Polish Silver Using an Empty Beer Can
If you have tarnished silver it may be easier to polish it than you think.
Here's how:
Supplies
Empty aluminum beer can
Hot water
Baking Soda
Make Some Aluminum Sheet
Cut the top and bottom off a beer can with a knife and then trim the edges using a pair of scissors. Then cut down the middle of the can and make flat but moving the curled sheet over an edge of a table to create a flat sheet of aluminium.
Sandpaper
Sandpaper the painted side of the aluminium sheet. You can use a reasonably rough grade to expose the aluminium metal.
Add in Baking Soda
- Take a bowl and place the aluminium sheet in it with the Sandpapered side up.
- Place the silver item to be polished on top.
- Pour on some boiling water and add a tablespoon of baking soda.
All Most There
After 10 minutes remove the silver item and lightly rub it with a cloth to remove the displaced tarnish and you will have shiny silver again.
