Gastly - With Water Fog That Colorerd by the Light of LED

Briefly speaking, the principle is water fog colored by the light of LED.

Gastly 8cm in diameter .

And the hardest part is how to make the fog spread out of Gastly's body in every direction.

It works with Ultrasonic Atomizer,.

I've been told that water fog produced by Ultrasonic Atomizer can be unhealthy if the water or the room for water is not clean,pollutants like bacteria may spread in air, hence do bad to your health. Please use pure clean water and play in open space.


简单来说,原理是水雾被LED灯染色。

直径8cm的鬼斯。

最难的部分是如何让水雾均匀地从鬼斯体内出来。

需要超声波雾化器。

我最近听说,如果水或是容器不干净,这种雾化器会造成细菌等污染物进入空气,从而影响你的健康。

所以请使用纯净水,在通风环境下把玩。

Basic Principle 基本原理

The atomizer provide water fog.

The fan blow out the fog from the gap where the LED strip is placed.

The light of LED strip colors the fog.


雾化器产生水雾。

水雾被风扇从缝隙吹出,缝隙处安装了LED灯带。

灯光给水雾染色。

3D Printing 3D打印

Notice: the 'back_A.stl', has a inside room and tunel for water.

No need and do not print the suport when printing this part.


注意:“back_A.stl”中,有一个给水的内腔及通道。

打印这个零件,不需要,也不要打印支撑。

Circuit Diagram 电路图

Simple Circuits,wire electrical parts based on it.

按照这个简单的电路进行接线。

Assemble the Atomizer 安装雾化片

1.Put the atomizer in the lid(lid.stl).

2.Notice there's a gap, for the wire of atomizer.

3.Use 4 M3*10mm screws to fix. The atomizer is covered by ruber, a little bit pressure by the screw makes it shut up the water hole on back_A(back_A.stl). The wire go to the back side through the hole.

4.Connet to the driver

Don't screw the bolts too hard. Too hard makes the atomzier not work in a good conditon.Too loose, water leaks.

Connect to power supply to see if it works.



1.把雾化片放入lid(3D打印零件)

2.注意lid上有个缺口,是雾化片连线的方向

3.使用4个M3*10螺丝来固定,雾化片被橡胶包裹,所以给它一些压力,便会封住后边的出水口。从孔里将线传入后方

4.连接雾化片驱动板

不用把螺丝拧得太紧,太紧会影响雾化片工作,太松则会漏水。

连接电源测试是否正常工作。

Fan and Resistor 风扇及电阻

If your fan is 7mm in thickness, use 4 of M3*10 to fix.

If your fan is 10mm in thickness, use 4 of M3*15 to fix.

Connect the adjustable resistor with the fan based on the circuit diagram.

The adjustable resistor is used to control the speed of fan. Hence control the fog. Shows in the GIF.


若你的风扇7mm厚,使用4个M3*10螺丝固定。

若你的风扇10mm厚,使用4个M3*15螺丝固定。

根据电路图将可调电阻与风扇进行连接。

可调电阻是用于调节风扇转速的,由此调节水雾。GIF图中有展示。

Assemble the Front and LED Strip 安装前部及LED灯带

Use tape to place LED strip on middle part(middle.stl).

Screw the 4 M3*20 screws in and fix middle to the front part(face.stl).

This width of the gap between the front and the middle part is not limited, you can adjust the width by screw the bolts.

In my test, about 5mm of gap width works well.


使用双面胶将LED灯带缠在中部(middle.stl)零件上。

拧入4个M3*20螺丝, 并将middle零件与前部(face.stl)相连。

前部与中部间的缝隙宽度并未限死,你可以通过拧螺丝来调节。在我的测试中,大约5mm左右宽效果较好。

Connect All Parts 连接所有零件

Use 4 of M3*5 to fix the middle part and back_A part.

The wire of LED strip goes through the same hole which the wire of atomizer goes through.

Wire those electrical parts based on the circuit diagram.

Assemble the holder.


使用4个M3*5螺丝连接前中部和后部。

LED灯带的线与雾化片的线从同一个孔中穿出。

根据电路图接线。组装支架。

My LED strip is blue light, but seems a little bit purple in camera. And the backgroud affects. Darker backgroud seems better.

Don't stare at the LEDs directly for long time. The light is intense.

You can find some ways to hide wires and battery. (First picture)

The LED strip and fan is ok to work in a moist condition. But the driver board and battery or power supply are not.Be carefull.

The water tank inside Gastly's body is not big, filling with water once ,it can provides the atomizer make fog for

about 10minutes.

Some fog attaches on the the suface inside the body, they will gather into drop. To avoid the drop falls out, I add a room to store the water drops. (Second picture).You need pour the water out before it's full.


A single small Gastly has many limitations.

You can put Gastly together with another strcuture. Provides more room,that will solve many problems.

For example,in the third picture, Gastly with a castle.Then you can put some circuits ,wires, water tank out of Gastly, and hide in the castle.

我的LED灯带是蓝光的,但在摄像头中会有些泛紫色。背景的颜色会有影响。暗一点的背景效果更好。

不要长时间直视LED灯,它的光很强烈。

你可以想写办法将线路藏起来(如图1)。

LED灯带和风扇在潮湿环境下工作没有什么问题,但雾化片的驱动板以及电源不要与水接触,需要注意防水。

鬼斯体内的水箱不大,在测试中,大概能持续供雾10分钟。

一些水雾会附着在鬼斯体内的表面上,它们会汇聚成水珠落下。为避免它们流出,我加了一个蓄水的空间(如图2)。需要在水满前倒掉。


小型单体的鬼斯就会有这些限制。

你可以将鬼斯与其它结构组合。便有更多空间,可以解决这些问题。

例如,图3中,将鬼斯与城堡放在一起。便可以将一些电路和水箱等转移出来,并藏在城堡里。

我会试着做这样一个版本。下次见。
