I had just built my bedroom shop and wanted to make something.  So I found a lightbulb (blown) and started my first project.  I drew what I wanted it to look like so I would know what materials I would need.

Materials

1 globe style clear light bulb
for cutting off base of bulb

First I had to remove the base.  Then the filament.  Gently remove the rough edges.

I used a spare piece of wood.   Measured to fit the bulb and chiseled a bowl for the bulb to sit in.

The Cork

I couldn't find a cork to fit the opening so I improvised.  I took an eraser and cut a piece off and shaped it to fit the hole.

I stole some dirt from my mom's "weeds", um, houseplants. I used an eye dropper to add water to clean the sides of the bulb, then used it to remove any excess water.

Back to mom's 'weeds' and pick a couple of plants.  One is a klanchoe (sp?) and the other is a spider plant.  I had to use a skewer to get the plants into the bulb.  I added a few stones to finish the look.
