Pocket sized instruments are very fun for everyone. I'm going to show you how to make a drum, maraca, and panpipes. Most of these are made out of recycled materials.

Note: All of them will require scissors.

Maraca

Beans

Tape around the plastic egg to ensure it does not open. Now your maraca is complete, shake away!

First cut all straws in half, then tape them together (make sure they're straight).

Lastly cut one end of the straws diagonally. Now blow through the straight end of the straws. The shorter the straw the higher the sound.

Note: If you want you can tape/glue a string on the panpipes so you can wear it around your neck.

Drum

Cutting

Cut a small part of the toilet paper tube off (this is the part you use). Next cut a piece of parchment paper that is bigger than the toilet paper tube.

Put your toilet paper tube on a bottle that is slightly smaller than it. Then take the parchment paper and wrap it around the tube. Next wrap a rubber band tightly around the parchment paper and tube.

Carefully take off the toilet paper tube, and trim off any excess parchment paper. If you want you can use toothpicks as drumsticks. Now your drum is complete!
