Plot Your Location on a Map BTate

How to plot your location with an 8 digit grid coordinate.
Supplies
1:50,000 map
Military map protractor
8 digit grid coordinate
pencil
Find Your Grid Square
Your latitudinal line will be the first and second digits of the eight digit grid coordinate. Your longitudinal line will be the fifth and sixth digits. For example, with a grid coordinate of "21304540" your latitudinal line is 21, and your longitudinal line is 45.
Orientate Your Protractor on the Map

Place the 1:50,000 triangle stencil with the hypotenuse of the triangle facing the left on the intersection of the 21-45 grid square.
Adjust the Protractor Along the Latitudinal Line

You will use the third and fourth digits from your eight digit coordinate to know how far you will move along the horizontal or latitudinal line. 21304540 = 3.0 along the latitudinal line. (21354540 would = 3.5)
For our eight digit coordinate we will move the protractor to the right until we reach the 3 mark on the bottom or horizontal side of the triangle stencil.
Mark Your Position With the Pencil

Your location will be along the vertical or right side of the triangle stencil. You will use the seventh and eighth digit to know where you need to mark on the map.
For our eight digit coordinate we will mark our location at the 4 on the triangle stencil.
