You can easily convert any table in your home into a playing table. All you need to do is take a trip to the fabric store.

This table cloth will allow you to roll die on it without them flying across the room or simply play a card game on with the textured appeal of a poker table at a tiny fraction of the price.

Materials

  • Fabric from the Home Decor section of a fabric store. It may cost $$ a little more but you will want the quality.( in any color you want)
  • spray adhesive
  • easy liner (I chose Select Grip)

We chose this fabric because it resembles the felt in a poker table but felt softer yet still playable. The table top we are covering is about 50 inches long and 30 inches wide. Knowing this, all we needed is one yard of the fabric.

Note, you do not need to use easy liner for the bottom liner. We found after that it has potential to leave a sticky residue due to the spray adhesive leaking through the holes. We recommend next time using a rubbery fabric that does not have holes such as a thick rug liner.

Trim the Easy Liner

Trim the liner until you cover your entire desired surface .

Spray

Unfold your felt on the garage floor or somewhere outside. You don't want the adhesive to adhere to your living room carpet! Spray a good layer of the adhesive in the center of the fabric and then lay your cut strips of easy liner where you sprayed. Make sure to leave about 2 inches on the sides.Try to keep it even or use a ruler if you want to be precise.

Fold

Spray the 2 inch sides with more adhesive and then fold in all corners. Press down all over to make sure the adhesive has done its job.

Roll Out and Play!

Allow it to dry over night or at least a good hour if you can't contain your urge to play. We found it worked better when it dried over night.

Thanks for checking out my Instructable. Have fun playing!
