Reasons for doing this project:

  1. The Boys' and Girls' Clubs Association of Hong Kong--More than 70% of children do not exercise enough to meet WHO standards and spend less time exercising than before the pandemic (31 July 2023)​
  2. news.gov.hk -- Before the pandemic, the overweight testing rates for primary and secondary school students were 17.4% and 19.9% respectively in the 2018-19 school year, increased to 20.6% and 22.1% respectively in the 2023-24 school year, and dropped slightly to 19.5% and 20.5% in the 2022-23 school year (3 January 2024)​
  3. East Net - A survey of 375 people in Kowloon East was conducted from August 21 to September 20 this year, and the results showed that more than 60 per cent of the respondents believed that the current community sports facilities under the LCSD were inadequate​ (September 29, 2023)​​​
  4. In Hong Kong, muscle problems in the elderly, particularly sarcopenia (age-related muscle loss), are a significant concern. This can lead to decreased mobility, increased risk of falls, and reduced overall quality of life. Prevalence of sarcopenia in Hong Kong's community-dwelling elderly population is notable, with studies reporting rates around 9% at baseline and an average annual incidence of 3.1%. Utilize this variation to work on controlling your full depth! Simply hold on to a stable object, like a countertop or chair, and slowly go all the way down. Minimize the use of your hands to improve.

Air Squat for Teenager and Adolescent

Setup: Find a stance with your feet just about shoulder width apart or slightly wider.

Movement: Start to sit backwards as if a chair is behind you. Keep your chest high, head up, keeping your knees behind your toes. Have a strong core (pull belly button in) to protect your back, breathe in on the way down, force breath out on the way up! Hands out as a counter-balance if needed.

What you should feel: Engagement of your glutes (buttocks), quads (front of thigh), hamstrings (back of thighs), and core!

What you should not feel: Pain in your lower back, hips, knees, or ankles.

Pro Tips: We love to load this squat! The goblet squat is one of our favorites. Just grab a kettlebell or dumbbell and hold it at your chest! Pretend it’s your child or grandchild ;-) See pictures on the next page!

Bicep Curls No Load

Sports Points Plan:

  1. Business involvement (universal participation)​
  2. Implementing the "Sports Points Scheme" to redeem gifts;​
  3. Invite different business groups to sponsor/donate items for gift redemption;​

  7. One year later, we analyzed the big data of sports, reviewed the effectiveness and sustainability of the "Sports Savings Program" in the community, and put smart living into practice. ​

  4. Use MediaPipe and OpenCV to build an action to detect our push-ups and biceps curls to ensure that we can use the correct posture to complete each exercise. ​

Example :Start the posture detection module of mediapipe and calculate the positions of different landmarks of the human body according to the model. Calculate the angles of the elbows, shoulders and hips, as these are crucial for the correct form of push-ups. Use PoseModule at the same time and determine whether push-ups should be considered a correct or incorrect posture. The push-up prediction software can push ups and send signals to the artificial intelligence control box. After AI, it will send wireless signals to control the car control box to receive signals to move forward, backward, or turn left or right. (UNO + IO SHIELD + ​DIGITAL RELAY​ + RC TRANSMITTER)

Bicep training game:

Start the posture detection module of mediapipe, calculate the position of different landmarks of the human body according to the model. Find the angles between joints (depending on the joints you choose). AI can remind athletes to complete the exercise in the correct posture.

Unihiker connects the probe distance sensor ultrasonic sensor and LED light. When the LED light turns on, the elderly see the light and accelerate to cover the sensor with their hands. When the sensor confirms, the light will start, and then the next light will turn on. Cover the sensor with your hand again, repeat the activity, and you can also use other parts of the body (bag) Three sensors of different colors can be placed in different locations at home, and then the elderly can take turns to cover the sensors with their hands, walk across and use different parts of the body to achieve a full-body exercise effect. The IOT system will record the elderly's exercise data and evaluate their physical condition.​

The Circuit of IOT Sports System

UNO OBLOQ to IOT:

UNO reads the user's heart rate, number of push-ups, bicep curls, marathons, burpees and sit-ups, and OBLOQ transmits the data to the cloud sports center (easy IOT) or (siot – UNIHIKER), where the data is stored on the cloud website. For example, students or citizens can view their sports data through the App and participate in the "Sports Points Program".

Purpose of the program:​

UNO reads the BICEP-CURL ENABLE signal from digital pin 8. If the pin 8 signal is HIGH, OBLOQ sends the data (BICEP-CURL times) to the cloud sports center (EASY IOT) or (SIOT – UNIHIKER), and the data is stored in the cloud website.
