Planted Lamp

This is a simple design for a lamp inspired by a potted plant. It works with any branch, pot and standard lamp assembly that can be found in any hardware store. I used gravel to weight this one but rocks, sand, cement are other options.

Supplies

flower pot, wired lamp assembly, Shade, branch, some epoxy and small pieces of wood for the feet, a 2"screw, some strong tape to hold the lightbulb fixture to the top of the branch and a 2"-3" square piece of wood for the base of the branch to stabilize it, and some gravel, or stones, sand, dirt, cement...or anything you can imagine to use as pot filler to give your lamp a sturdy footing.

drill a hole in the bottom of the branch and the square piece of wood and fasten them together with a 2" wood screw.

thread the plug end of the lamp assembly through the hole in the bottom of the flower pot, wind the cord around the branch like it's a vine growing up it and attach the light fixture to the end with gaffer tape or zip tie. fill the pot with gravel and fasten the shade.
