Pine breadboard for school project. Made with scrap 1x4 pine planks and requires a handle and laser engraving. Attached are the part and drawing files of the project.

Supplies

  1. 3 Pine 1x4s (upcycled)
  2. Wood Glue - $7.97
  3. Food-safe cutting board oil - $9.78

Start by ripping the pine with a table saw to 2 inch thickness for gluing.

Glue the 2-inch thick pine boards together and clamp down so the glue sets properly. After about a day, scrape excess glue beads off the glued board once it's dry.

Use a drum sander to plane the glued board until the sheet is level and there's no gaps or unevenness in the board.

Use given DXF file to laser cut a stencil of the final shape. Then, clamp the stencil on top of a glued and planed board and with a pencil, trace the stencil to mark the shape on the glued board.

Sand the board to desired texture and smoothness.

OPTIONAL: Add a laser engraving on to the board with a laser cutter.

Use food-safe mineral oil to coat the board. Let it set and apply more layers of oil as desired to finish the board.
