This Instructable is a recipe for making delicious chocolate and peanut butter cookies.
Supplies
YEILD: 9-10 dozen cookies
Ingredients-Peanut Butter Dough:
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 1-1/4 cups sugar
- 1-1/4 cups brown sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Ingredients- Chocolate Dough:
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Preheat Oven
Preheat oven to 350* F.
Peanut Butter Dough
In a large bowl, beat the butter, peanut butter, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until it's light and fluffy. Add the eggs, beating them in well. Set this aside. In a smaller bowl, combine the flour, baking soda and salt. Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture and mix well. When finished, set the dough aside.
Chocolate Dough
In another large bowl, beat butter, sugars, and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add eggs, beating them in well. In a smaller bowl, combine the flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt. Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture and beat well.
Balling the Cookies and Baking
When the oven is preheated to 350* F, set out a baking sheet (or multiple, if you want to bake them faster). You won't need to grease the pans, since there are four sticks of butter in the dough. With clean hands, grab a small lump from both dough bowls. Roll the dough between your hands until it's marbled. Lay them on the pan, with plenty of room to expand. Bake for 13-15 minutes (12-13 if you like them soft and mushy). When the cookies are ready, place them on a wire rack to cool.
