I used 3/4 inch plywood. I suppose walnut or some other wood would have been better but once again I was working with what I had available. (can't remember how many times I've used that phrase.) But after I sanded, routered it and stained it it looked really good.

The base is 8 inches by 12. inches
The other part has the same dimensions.
Pencil where you want to cut. Make sure you measure exactly where the boards slid together. You want just a little play in there but not to much.

After you cut it out, sand it before you stain it. I routed it to make its overall appearance nicer and a more professional look.

Stain It

I used a can of stain that was in my garage. I think it was called old American wood.

You can charge your phone, hang your watch and/or bracelet, and put your wallet, keys and other personal items on the back. If you wanted you could probably personalize it.

Good luck and God Bless!
