Our scooter had error code 07 after a minor crash. The wire running from the brake handle to the main board was partially cut.

Supplies

  1. Soldering supplies

  1. Remove the cover from the brake sensor
  2. Inspect the wires to see where they are broken
  3. Cut the remaining wires at the same spot where the other wires are broken
  4. Remove the plastic spacer tube that covers the wires

  1. Use side cutters or dykes to cut a slot in the plastic spacer tube that covers the wires, this will make the repair much easier. My slot is sloppy because I started with a dremel.
  2. Strip the ends of the wires a few millimeters, this splice needs to preserve as much wire length as possible
  3. Solder the wires together, use heatshrink or hot melt glue to insulate

  1. Connect the steering tube connector and test
  2. If it works put everything back together
  3. If you get a different error code after reassembly, peel the cover off the screen and reseat all of the connectors, I knocked one loose during the process. The screen cover comes off easily.
  4. Cover the slot with electric tape to make it look better
