Personalised Heart Crochet Cushion

What is more special than to celebrate Love with a personalised Crochet Heart Pillow.

This Heart Pillow design is perfect to be used a ring bearer, and as home/reception furnishing placement after the wedding.

You can use this heart for gift for Valentines day or a gift for your friends who are getting married. I have embroidered the initials. Celebrating love.

If you know the basics of crocheting, then you make your own. The pattern is simple to follow.

Yarn - 8 Ply (Maroon, Cream)

Needle

Scissors

Lining cloth

Fiber Fill

Thread

Crochet hook size (4mm)

Chain 3, close ring with slip stitch and chain 2 to start row with.

1. 12 dc in ring

2. *2dc* in each stitch around (24)

3. *dc1, dc 2 in next st*, do from * to * around. (36)

This pattern would give about 8 inch height applique.

For bigger heart add more round. Each round do an increase. Like for the next round do *dc1, dc1, dc 2 in next st*, do from * to * around. similarly do few more if you want a bigger cushion.

Now we are going to shape the cushion. In this step you will get the basic heart shape.

4. sc in first st, hdc 1 in next st, dc 1 in same st, dc 2 in next 5 st, dc1 in next 2 st, hdc 1 in next 2 st, sc 1 in next 4 st, hdc 1 in next st, dc 1 in next st, dc 3 in next st, dc 1 in next st, hdc 1 in next st, sc 1 in next 4 st, hdc 1 in next 2 st, dc1 in next 2 st, dc 2 in next 5 st, dc 1 in next st, hdc 1 in same st, sc in next, close with sl st.

Now for the final rounded heart shape.

5. sl st in firt st, sc in next st, hdc1 in next, hdc 1 in next, dc1 in same st, dc 2 in next 6 st, dc 1 in next 3 st, hdc 1 in next 2 st, sc 1 in next 9 st, sc 3 in next st, sc 1 in next 9 st, hdc 1 in next 2 st, dc 1 in next 3 st, dc 2 in next 6 st, dc1 in next st, hdc 1 in same st, hdc 1 in next st, sc in next st, sl st in next and close with sl st.

That's it. Your heart applique is done. Make one more in the same way.

Do chain stitch embroidery here. I chose to write the initials. Just go your way of writing.

Now we will make the cushion. Place the heart on the cloth. Cut the cloth (lining) along the line of the heart. It would be good to cut a little away from the heart. So that when the cushion is filled with fibre fill there is space for stretch.

Sew together both the cloth along the heart outline. Leave a small gap to fill the fiber fill.

Take the two crocheted heart piece and align them together. Start doing sc around half way. Place the cushion heart inside the pocket of the crocheted heart.

Start filling the heart with fiberfill. Fill it really well but not too much. Complete filling and sew close the heart cushion cloth. Now continue the SC round the crocheted heart appliques together. Fasten off.

Crochet cushion cover and a heat pillow is done.

Make a Crochet Rose or any embellishment. This would make your crochet heart cushion more adorable. Sew it on to the middle of the cushion.
