Ingredients
Someone might obtain these supplies at any local grocery store. You may already have most, if not all, of the ingredients listed. I already had the ingredients in my pantry and used what I had. You should be able to buy these ingredients for under twenty dollars.
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 3 large eggs
- ¾ cups granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- Extract Virgin Olive Oil Non- Aerosol Cooking Spray (a couple of sprays, just enough to coat the pizzelle maker)
- 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
Kitchen Tools
I used these tools because they are simple tools to make my creation. I wanted to make sure I measured the ingredients correctly so that my pizzelles would turn out good.
- Measuring cups
- Cuisinart Pizzelle maker
- Electric Hand Mixer
- 2 Teaspoons
- Mixing Bowls
- Knife
Preheat
Preheat the Cuisinart Pizzelle by plugging it in and press on setting 3 while preparing the batter.
Measure Ingredients
Measure all of the ingredients to prepare making the batter.
- 1 ¾ cups of all purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons of baking powder
- 3 large eggs
- ¾ cup of granulated sugar
- ½ cup of melted unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
Place the flour and baking powder in a small bowl and stir to combine. Reserve it.
Eggs and Sugar
Place eggs and sugar in a medium bowl. Using hand mixer mix on medium speed for 1 minute, until thickened.
Mix Eggs Butter Vanilla
Using the hand mixer on low speed, add the melted butter and vanilla in a steady stream to the mixture of eggs and sugar. This should take about 15 seconds.
Combine Ingredients
Add the flour and baking powder mixture to the ingredients in previous step. Using the hand mixer, mix all ingredients for about 10-15 seconds. DO NOT OVER MIX.
Spray Pizzelle Maker
Lightly spray extra virgin olive oil on to the top and bottom grids of the bottom of the pizzelle maker.
Add Batter
Using a teaspoon scoop 1 ½ - 2 teaspoons of batter on to each side of the griddle. Close the lid and lock. The red light will be on and when it turns green the pizzelles are ready.
Remove Pizzelles
Using a spatula or butter knife...
- Trim excess batter to make a nice round pizzelle
- Remove the pizzelles from the maker and place on wax paper.
Add Powdered Sugar
After 3-5 minutes you may sprinkled with powdered sugar if desired. The pizzelles are ready to eat.
Summary
Make sure readers pay special attention to correctly measuring the ingredients so that the pizzelles turn out awesome.
Also, readers should make sure if they make the pizzelles that they pay attention to using the pizzelle maker. I like my pizzelles lightly browned but if you leave them on the pizzelle maker longer, they can get a lot darker. It’s personal preference as to how light or dark you want your pizzelles. I learned that these pizzelles are not only delicious but they are pretty simple to make. I did not have any challenges while making the pizzelles. My mom helped me with getting the right ingredients out of the pantry.
