Perfect Pet Pic

Here I have made a Perfect Pet Pic device. This is to help anyone who needs a little more attention from there dogs when taking photos or videos or the like. I find it works wonders and I have made this version hoping that you can find most all of the components around your house! With the use of a pop socket, and a chip clip and a tiny bit of attention to detail it will be simple to make for your pupper.

PLEASE DON'T TEASE YOUR PETS! IF YOU ARE SHOWING OFF TREATS OR TOYS PLEASE MAKE SURE TO REWARD YOUR PUP IF THEY DO A GOOD JOB! THINK HOW YOU WOULD FEEL IF YOUR PARENT HAD YOU SMILE FOR A PIC WITH CAKE AND THEN..... NO CAKE!!!!! SAME THING!

What you will need:

1. Spare Pop Socket - I Usually keep a Spare Pop Socket for when i decide i need a different look or texture on the back of my phone. if you have one already they come off easily from the mount that secure to your phone.
2. Krazy Glue - Any super glue of KRAZY GLUE should be able to work as long as you give it a few hours to cure after gluing. in this case i used wood glue on plastic devices and had no problem.
3. Chip Clip (small - medium) - I used a chip clip I had laying around. Make sure it is not too long as it will bump your phone when pressed closed.
4. Scrap Paper - It is always best to have a spare sheet of something underneath what you are working on, especially when you are working with super glue.
5. Amazing pup that is finicky about pics - This is our little pup. Her name is Emperess Peanut Butter or EMMY for short. She is a 9.5 month old pit/doggo de argintina mix and loves helping around the house all the time including piking up things we drop, carrying soda and water cans to people, and now modeling for this new project!!! She is a happy pup and got lots of treats for being a good doggo!
6. Toys OR Treats - For this I ended up using her old destroyed toy. Anything dangely seems to go great, she also loves bright things like strawberry pocky and sometimes she likes Sour candy belts from the organic section. truly any kind of toy or treat they enjoy should be suitable.
7. Gloves - This is optional. I always prefer to have gloves on hand, nitrile being the best. but i did not have any available and yes i did end up gluing myself to ....myself. Use them if you have them!!!!

When starting a project its always best to have an area that is nice and clean and not going to be messed with for a while. Assuming you have pets and will be using the glue, you don't want them to come together. PETS NO LIKE GLUE!

Put your paper down and setup your items and get ready to make a new little trinket! i Usually send Emmy away at this point to watch the squirrels. (calling her in the Photo and she does not care without the PPP!!)

It is not pictured here (i forgot) but don't forget to put your Spare sheet of paper down before starting.

So it may seem like you can just out it on the chip clip but look closely! There is sometimes a bar next to the clip end that can cause a gap. This could prevent a good gluing and you don't want it snapping off and scaring your dog. Check explanatory notes on the photos to see tips on how to avoid the bar. Just look close and make sure there is NO GAP.

First things first, Don't over glue! If you over-glue it will take longer to cure and will smoodgly (scientific term) EVERYWHERE! I found that just two (2) drops will do. After findng your location put your two drops on the tab end of the chip clip.

Now you can use the tip of the Crazy Glue container to spread the glue around the area. you can see in the 2nd photo how it looks before adding the pop socket. When adding the pop socket, I like to butt (hehe) the edge of the pop socket right up to the metal bar, and then lay it down slowly and gently against the glue puddle you just made. press firmly for a moment and flip over to make sure it looks even (if that is important to you) and set on your spare sheet of paper to cure**.

Let it sit for a few hours (up to 6 hours) to cure so it is essentially one piece and won't come off when tugged on by your pup.

Now here is the fun part. After giving the setup a tiny wiggle to make sure it cured well, line up the back of the pop socket with the mount on your phone. it should set right into the groove and after giving a slight 1/4 turn, it will give a satisfying click into place. If it is not straight up and down its alright, you can lift it into the outward position and twist from there to any position.

The last photo is to show that it HAS CURED WELL and can support the weight of something that is the same weight as the phone. My phone weighs just over 200g, and that is easily supported.

Now you have a fancy little Photography tool that took barely any time at all aside from cure time. this should be extremely beneficial for any pets that have a favorite toy. Even fish can have favorite follow items btw!!!!

Once i added a toy to the PPP (perfect pet pic) Emmy was much happier to pose for pics then to keep watching the squirrels. You can see how happy she was to jump on over and see her new interactive toy!!!

Now you can mess around with your PPP and explore your photo types and settings. basic photos at the park are nice, any way you might need to pic your pup but i personally enjoy the new highly available SLOW-MO photos and videos. Alot of newer phones and some not so newer phones have a slow-mo feature and i find that is always fun. i have also found some on various app stores, If you cant find one that comes with your phone.
