Perfect Coffee - With Egg?

Adding eggshell to your breakfast coffee takes away some of the bitterness that comes with cheap or really bitter coffee. The eggshells are cleaned after making hard boiled eggs, allowed to dry, and then simply added to the coffee pot ready for brewing.

Eggshells are made of calcium carbonate which is in an alkaline material. The alkaline in the egg shells helps to balance the taste of the acidic flavours in your coffee. As simple as the humble egg, by adding egg shells to your coffee, you will have a more smooth coffee to sip in the mornings.

In your coffee pot put ground coffee, egg shells and a small amount of cold water to ensure that your boiling water does not burn your coffee. For 4 spoons of coffee place 2 egg shells.

Add your hot water and remember to give some time after boiling as the perfect temperature range for coffee is between 91c (195f) to 96c (205f). Give it a good old stir and leave for 4 minutes. Then give it a press.
