For my daughter's Sweet 16 Birthday Party, which had a Harry Potter Hogsmeade / Honeydukes theme, we had lots of candy - including homemade Peppermint Toads.

Supplies needed:
2 Frog Chocolate Candy Molds (ordered from www.cybrtrayd.com for a total of $7.50) - each mold makes 8 frogs
1/3 bag (4 oz.) Guitard Green Mint Chips
1 1/2 bags (18 oz.) Nestle White Chocolate Chips
32 York Peppermint Pieces (just the white ones)
     2 tablespoons Crisco Shortening
     Toothpicks or Small Sticks

Melt the Green Mint Chips in the microwave for 30 seconds.  Stir and microwave them for 30 more seconds.  Stir until smooth.  With the stick, draw 3 diagonal strips for each toad.  If the melted mint chips cool too much and get thick, microwave for an additional 15 seconds.

Melt the White Chocolate Chips and Shortening together for 30 seconds.  Stir and microwave them for 30 more seconds.  Stir until smooth. Spoon the white chocolate into each toad, filling only half way.  Put two Peppermint Pieces into each toad, between the green stripes.  Fill the rest of the toad, getting into every space.  Tap the mold on the table a few times after each toad is filled to smooth it out and remove all the air bubbles.

Put the molds into the freezer for 10 minutes for the candy to harden.  Then pop each toad onto a plate.  Let them set a few hours if you plan to package them.

Packaging:
3" x 4" Ziplock Bags (found at craft or candy supply stores)
     Peppermint Toad Boxes

A beautiful Peppermint Toad template can be found at https://www.instructables.com/id/Peppermint-Toads/step5/Eat-the-Toads/ although it should be enlarged slightly to fit the toad better.  Printing the template onto fancy pearlized paper makes the box look really great.
