Peppermint Chip Cookies
These candy cane chip cookies are a good way to add a little kick and variety to your regular chocolate chip cookies. Follow your favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe or use the one provided and add crushed peppermint candy!

1 cup butter, softened
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp sea salt
1/2 tbs baking soda, dissolved in 2 tbs boiling water
1/2 tbs cream of tartar, dissolved in 2 tbs boiling water
3 cups AP Flour
1/2-3/4 bag chocolate chips
5+ crushed candy canes (your preference)
Dough
Preheat oven to 375 and line a cookie sheet with parchment (unless it's a non-stick sheet).
Mix melted butter with sugars until combined. Add eggs and combine. Next add baking soda, cream of tartar, salt, and vanilla extract. When combined, begin adding in flour until all the ingredients are mixed. Add chocolate chips and smashed candy canes last.
Bake
Scoops 1-2" balls 2 inches apart on a lined baking sheet. Bake 10-13 minutes.
Cool
Remove cookies from oven and let cool on a baking rack.
