Penthouse Terrace Renovation

The old divider was dismantled, a new built divider was built and an outdoor dining area. Also, a wooden table of monastery type was made

A. The following materials were used for the construction of the divider

  1. YTONG BLOCKS. Blocks of light concrete used for wall constructions. Very durable, lightweight and excellent thermal insulation properties
  2. YTONG BLOCKS ADHESIVE. For the blocks' building
  3. RESIN CEMENT MORTAR. Extra fine resin cement mortar for the final coating.
  4. CEMENT PAINT. White cement paint for external use
  5. WOODEN BEAMS. Old wooden beams from my workshop, paint and used as railing


B. For the construction of the external sofa I used the following materials

  1. YTONG BLOCKS. For the building of the construction
  2. YTONG BLOCKS ADHESIVE. For the blocks' building
  3. RESIN CEMENT MORTAR. Extra fine resin cement mortar for the final coating.
  4. CEMENT PAINT. White cement paint for external use
  5. OSB Panels. For the installation of the 27X44 fir wooden beams to the cement construction
  6. 27Χ44 mm FIR WOODΕΝ ΒΕΑΜS
  7. IMPREGNATION VARNISH. For the protection and colouring of the woods. Color: Light walnut, passes: 2
  8. HYBRID PU PARQUET VARNISH. For the final layer. Color: Transparent, passes: 2
  9. HYBRID PU VARNISH. For the painting of the OSB panels. Color: White, passes: 2


C. For the construction of the wooden table I used the following materials

  1. WOODEN BEAMS. 120X120 pine wooden beams for the table's legs
  2. WOODEN LOGS. 250X47 pine wooden logs for the table's surface
  3. IMPREGNATION VARNISH. For the protection and colouring of the woods. Color: Light walnut. Passes: 2
  4. HYBRID PU PARQUET VARNISH. For the final layer. Color: Transparent. Passes: 2
  5. FURNITURE WHEELS. I used four heavy duty furniture wheels for the moving of the table

Initially, the old metallic construction was dismantled and the site was cleaned. This was followed by the construction with YTONG blocks, which were given the desired shape for the final result. After the construction, the cement mortar was applied and finally the construction was painted with the cement paint. The final step was the cutting, painting and installation of the wooden railings

Initially the construction was made with the YTONG blocks formatting in the desired shape. Then, the cementitious coating was applied and in the final stage the construction was painted with white cement paint. After that the OSB's panels were painted with white PU paint. Next, the woods were measured and cut to the desired lengths. This was followed by painting them with light walnut impregnation varnish and then transparent PU hybrid varnish was applied.Those woods were fastened to the OSBs to create the wooden seats. The construction was completed with the placement of the wooden seats in their predetermined positions

Initially, the woods was measured and cut to the desired lengths. Then the woods were shaped to look old, using the proper tools. They were then sanded with fine sandpaper, followed by their assembly to create the surface and legs of the table. Final steps were the painting and varnishing of the table and the placement of the wheels

The total cost of the construction was up to 390 euros, without counting the decorative pillows and other decorative equipment
