Recently I am a little addict making purse and bag. My craft instagram is https://www.instagram.com/honghonglu_craft/
So of course I have some extra fabric.
Do you have scrap fabric or pretty paper for decoration? Let's create some pentagon ornaments.
Supplies
What you need is a printer to print the template or you can use a ruler and a goniometer to draw the template.
Of course, you also need a scissor.
a needle and thread (if it is fabric)
button and bead(optional)

Draw the Template

Draw or print the template, and prototype it on the paper to get the idea how it look.
Then draw it on the fabric you like.
Here I use cotton fabric with grunch pattern.
Fold and Sew

Cut the pattern out of the fabric, I recommend add 1~3mm gap to the outline.
However here i didn't add any. I just use lighter to burn a little bit. :P
- Fold the middle pentagon to the the folding shape on the fabric.
- Sew #1 to #1 and #2 to #2 from the inside.
- Do the #3, #4,... the same.
Tips: you can keep 2~3mm to the edge not sew, which make it easy to fold the fabric.
Sew the Center, Iron It, Then Add Beads or Button for Decrorate

Sew the middle all tight together. Then iron it to get the shape.
If you want to use it as a mug rug, you could add a pentagon wadding in the step 2 in the middle of the fabric.
If you want to use it as a holiday decroration, you could add some beads and hang it.
Or you can use it as a book mark.
Enjoy!~
