I go to The Forest School Horsham

When I started going back to school, I had to do lots diagrams in pencil which is annoying because it means that I always have to have a sharp pencil with me or sharpen one.

Whenever you sharpen a pencil, the sharpening's go everywhere so I decided to make something that stops this from happening.

All you have to do is put the pencil sharpener in place and put the top on and you will never get pencil sharpening all over the place again

Supplies

For this you will need:

A 3D printer

Filament

Pencil sharpener

Pencil

Fusion 360

Modify the Size of the Opening

Most pencil sharpeners are a similar size, but it is always best to check.

The one that I used is around 10x15 at the top, 5x15 at the bottom and 25 cm tall.

If yours is very different you can change the size of sketch nine for the top, sketch ten for the bottom and plane 4 for height. It is important to leave some clearance. I found a that making it bigger by the same amount as the layer height that you are printing with. For example, I used 0.28mm so I made the hole for the sharpener bigger by 0.28mm (0.14mm on both sides).

Print the Parts

This step is pretty self-explanatory all you need to do is put the models in a slicing software and then print it. The thread works best if it has supports (I learnt this the hard way).

Assemble the Top Half

I tried to make it as simple as possible to assemble. All you need to do is place the pencil sharpener in the hole making sure that is is the right way round and put the bracket in place.

Screw Both Half’s Together

Last step!
Screw the two pieces together and then you are done!

Done!

You have finished the pencil sharpener and now you can sharpen as many pencils as you want.
