Paw Pressed Go Bananas! Doggie Ice Cream Sandwiches
There's a 99.9999999... percent chance that you might go out on a date with someone who is crazy about dogs atleast once in your lifetime! (I mean, who doesn't like dogs?) They might love their dogs more than they love their coffee in the morning! Welcome to trouble my friend :/
Well, that could be a little exaggerated. But who knows someday you might meet a dog lover and you might have to impress both of them. No problem, I've got it figured out! I decided to make something that is friendly for both - dogs and humans alike with everyday ingredients. So, we will be making Paw Pressed Doggie Ice Cream Sandwiches.
But a little tip before we get started. For this to be approved by their doggie, you must use frozen yoghurt. It's better for their dog, it's better for them and it's better for you (you know what I mean). Also, use unsweetened & unsalted natural peanut butter and organic honey that doesn't contain Xylitol or sugar. Plus, don't use candied dried berries that contain sugar, use the natural unsweetened dried berries or fresh ones (My grocery vendor doesn't keep fresh ones nor the dry ones, so I had to order the only safe available option on Amazon - the natural dried ones). Remember, STAY AWAY FROM XYLITOL, NO ARTIFICIAL SUGAR OR NO JUST SUGAR, ONLY NATURAL SWEETNESS! I know too confusing, refer to the pictures to make things easy. Just make sure, you get good high quality stuff that doesn't pose any health hazard to dogs.
But the good part is, it is easiest as it can be. The ingredients can be found in your fridge, or your top shelf, or your car's trunk (in case you forgot to pick up groceries from your car while enviously looking at your neighbor's freshly painted house).
Anyway, here's the recipe guys. Warning - beware of those doggie salivating mouths!

Making the Cookie Dough
Take 2 frozen bananas and mash it coarsely with a whisker.
Take a large mixing bowl, dump in the wheat flour, add in the eggs, honey, frozen bananas, peanut butter, and start combining everything with the whisker. Once combined, start kneading the dough.
Add little slashes of cow milk (if the mix is too dry) or little amount of flour (if the mix is too wet), and continue kneading until everything comes together and forms a dough.
Note: You can also use automatic mixing equipment for doing this, but since I did not have one, I had to use my fingers to do this.
Form a dough ball having no cracks, wrap it in cling film, and keep this ball in the refrigerator for 30 min to chill.
Shaping the Cookies
Remove the dough from the refrigerator, dust the counter top/rolling board with flour and roll the dough out using a rolling pin with a biscuit like thickness.
Use a circular cookie cutter or a bottle cap (as I have used) to cut out circular shapes from the dough.
Grease the baking tray with olive oil or use a parchment paper. Place the cut-outs on the baking tray.
Now, use a pen and a cap to form the paw prints as shown in the picture. Make sure they are clean and sterilize them before use. If you can't find appropriate tools to do this then use your thumb and pinky finger to make the paw impressions.
The impressions must be clearly visible and deep enough to fill in the jam. So apply pressure according to that.
Once done, place the cut-outs on the baking tray.
Baking the Paw Pressed Cookies
Preheat the oven for 10 min at 180 degree Celsius.
Put in the tray with cookies, and bake the cookies in the oven for 20 min at 150 degree Celsius.
Once done, remove and keep aside to cool.
Making the Plum Coconut Jam
Roughly dice the fresh plums and remove the seeds.
Take a vessel and put it on the stove and bring it to medium flame. Add in 50 ml of water, chopped plum slices, and 1 tbsp. honey.
Cook this mixture for half an hour till you get something that looks like jam. Stir continuously to break the plum pieces and to avoid burning it.
Remove and cool. Place it in the refrigerator to cool and thicken for 10 min.
Once cooled, add in the desiccated coconut flakes to it and give it a good mix. Take some jam in your hand and see if you can roll it into small balls without it sticking on your fingers. If you can do this, then great! that's what we need. If it is sticky then add more coconut flakes till it doesn't stick.
Making the Ice Cream Filling
Put in the frozen bananas (mashed or chopped, I have used one mashed), mixed dried berries, peanut butter, and yoghurt into a mixer/grinder/blender. Blend this mix to an ice-cream thick consistency.
Remove and keep it in the refrigerator to chill.
Assembling the Ice Cream Sandwich
Take one peanut butter wheat cookie. Scoop out 1 tsp. of the banana berries ice cream and spread it in the center of the cookie using a spoon.
Make a sandwich by placing another cookie on top of this to cover the ice cream. The paw prints must be on the top.
Fill the paw impressions with the plum coconut jam using your fingers by making small balls like you do with a clay and insert it in depressions or use a spoon. You need to fill in the gaps by still maintaining the circular paw shapes.
Once done, press gently on the top to make it as flat on top as possible (otherwise it will look bulged out).
Viola! The sandwiches are ready. You can serve them right away. Your date can have as much as they want to, but for the dog, just three will be plenty at a time. If doggo asks for more, put a heavy rock on top of your heart and say NO! If you can't then get ready for dog diabetes. Sorry for the horrible sense of humor ;-;
Anyways, here it is Paw Pressed Ice Cream Sandwich - your date and their dog will love this! Thank me later ;)
