Patriotic Coffee Table
Hello everyone, my name is Clayton Dobruck. We are going to make a Patriotic Coffee Table made out of wood today and I am going through the steps to show you how you are going to make it. I love this Patriotic Coffee Table because it represent our nation and it show respect to our country. The table that you going to make it has a lot of steps to go through.
Supplies
The materials needed to make the Patriotic Coffee Table
- 1 - 3/4'' x 4' x 8'' sanded Plywood
- 6 - 1 x3x8 White Pine
- Wood Glue
- 120 Grit Sand Paper
- 30 - 3 1/2'' Torx Screws
- 100 - 1 1/2 Brad Nails
- 30 -2'' Finish Nails
- Red Paint
- Blue Paint
- White Paint
- Wood Stain
- Wood Putty
Tools needed to do the Patriotic Coffee Table
- Circular Saw
- TableSaw
- Planner
- Portable Hand Planner
- Brad Nail Gun
- 2 1/2''Finish Nail Gun
- Air Compressor
- Air Hose
- Drill Impact Driver
- 4 Foot Level
- Vibrating Sander
- 3/8 Drill Bit
- 2 1/2'' Angle Paint Brush
Start Painting the Strips
- Paint red 3 pieces of 1x3x61 1/2'' and 4 pieces of 1x3x38 1/2''
- Paint White 3 pieces of 1x3x61 1/2'' and 3 pieces of 1x3x38 1/2''
- Spray paint white the hand stencil stars cut out of the plywood
- Lightly paint blue the face of the plywood displaying the stars.
Start Cutting the Plywood and Start Drawing Hand Stencil American Stars on the Plywood
- Cut an 18'' x27'' Plywood
- Hand Stencil American Stars onto plywood
- Make sure that the stars are on 3'' centers
- 5 - rows of 6 stars and 4 rows of 5 stars totaling 50 stars when complete
Now Cutting American Flag Strips to Correct Sizes
- Cut 6 - 1x3x61 1/2'' pine
- Cut 7 - 1x3x38 1/2'' pine
Assemble Pieces on the Plywood
- Assesmble the dried painted boards as a ''dryfit'' , measure the length and width and cut 3/4 plywood to match dimensions of the painted 1x3 pine
- Assesmble painted pine boards onto plywood base and install each by brad nails
- Assemble cedar rim board around flag top if desired
Build a Base for Lower Level of Table, Cut Cedar for Table Legs, and Plywood Sides
- Build a base (lower level of table) and deck with 1x6 T and G white pine
- Cut 8 pieces of 2x6x20 cedar for table legs, assemble with wood glue and secure with 3 1/2'' torx wood screws
- Plywood sides of table if desired
Assemble the Rest of the Table to Finish It
- Assemble lower table deck onto cedar legs allowing 3 1/2'' clearance from floor
- Assemble flag top and secure with 3 1/2'' cabinet grade screws
- Assemble T and G white pine on enclosed sides running verticle
I hope you will enjoy this project that I upload on instructable. This was a fun project for me because it shows love for our country and shows passion for our country. This project took a lot of time to make, but I made a good product that has good quality.
