Parametric Spill Proof Cup for Brushes Etc.

Have you ever accidentally spilled a cup of water used to clean brushes while painting? It is literally impossible with this design!

I store my modeling brushes in it but you can use if for whatever you want.

Parametric Design

The cup was designed in Fusion 360.

In the crossection view you can see how it works. The lip in the top part prevents water from leaking out even it it is rotated up side down.

It is fully parametric, which means you can easily change some parameters to alter model dimensions to suit your needs. For this reason Fusion file was attached here.

I've printed a 75x75mm version of the cup out of PETG, but PLA should also work fine. It took about 5h to finish. Print settings were standard ones, 0.2mm layer height, infill doesn't really matter. This model doesn't require any support material.

The two files for 75mm version are attached in this step. This sized container can hold more or less half a cup of water.

Done!

The two printed parts just screw together and like that the project is finished!

Check the video to see how well it works!

To pour the liquid out simply unscrew the two parts. Easy acces to the inside makes it also easier to clean.
