Paracord Pens
Anyone who does paracord projects knows that you have a lot of scraps laying around. So the big question is, "What to do with all of those scraps?" This instructable will show how you can use the scraps to make pens.
This is a simple project, that as you can see by the length of the video that I have also provided, only takes a few minutes.
Supplies
Here is a basic list of supplies that you will need:
- Scrap Paracord, usually need at least 6" in length
- Jewelers tool
- Pens
- Lighter
- Scissors
Take Apart the Pen
The pens that I used come apart at the writing end. Just grab it with the crimping tool and it will easily come apart.
Prepare the Cord
Measure the cord according to the length of the ink shaft.
When melting the ends of the cord, make sure that you do not mash the ends together. You need to be able put the ink shaft inside the cord.
Melt both ends.
Thread the Cord
Slide the cord over the ink shaft and work it up until you have it all the way on.
Put the Pen Back Together
This can be a difficult part. When putting the pen back together, you may need to heat the paracord.
BE CAREFUL NOT TO HEAT TOO MUCH, YOU MIGHT MELT THE INK SHAFT
While the cord is still warm, roll it and smooth out the ridges.
This should make it easier to finishing the assembly of the pen.
