Paracord Duct Tape Keychain

Gather the Needed Supplies

The paracord you wish to use, in my case I was using a 3' scrap of royal blue
Matches or a lighter to singe your paracord
A knife or scissors to cut the paracord, I just used my pocket knife
Duct tape
You will probably also want a key ring or something similar to attach the finished fob to your keys. I rummaged through my box of paracord goodies and found several different things that I thought might work. I finally settled on the black plastic swivel snap.
Building the Duct Tape Key Chain

The first thing I did was to attach the paracord to swivel. I did this with a simple hitch. Next what I did was to tie a two strand diamond knot in the cord about three inches down from the swivel. You don't have to use a diamond knot, a simple overhand works just fine, but I think it makes the piece look better. I you want to learn how to tie a diamond knot click here. Then you simply begin wrapping duct tape around the paracord between the swivel and the diamond knot. When you have a satisfactory amount of duct tape simply cut it off. Then you can cut the paracord to length and singe the ends. I just added two overhand knots to make it a little bit fancier. Congratulations, your paracord duct tape storage key chain is now complete.
