My compass came with a lanyard, but it was thin and cheap, so I decided to make a new and better one. This is a simple project and took me less than ten minutes to complete. It is extremely useful and can be attached to various types of compasses. It can be worn around the neck or wrist, whichever is most comfortable.

Cut the paracord to 1.4m(4.6 ft.) and melt the tips to prevent it from fraying. Form a loop in the middle of the paracord and thread it through the hole from the bottom. I used a pencil to push it through. Thread the two loose ends through the loop you have just formed. Tighten it up. Tie the knot of your choice to finish the ends. I tied a figure eight knot.

Cut a second piece of paracord to 40cm(1.3 ft.) and melt the tips. Braid the piece of paracord onto the main piece using the Solomon's braid. Finish it off. Now it is fully adjustable, and can be worn either around your neck or wrist.
