Paperclip Cube

This instructable will demonstrate how to make a cube from paperclips!

Supplies

Supplies:

  1. paper clips
  2. scissors
  3. Welder
  4. welding wire
  5. masking tape

Set Up

First, turn on the welding machine so it has time to heat up. Straighten out the paper clips and cut 12 equal sized pieces.

Next, arrange the paper clip pieces in a square and secure it with masking tape. Weld the 4 corners together using the welding machine and the welding wire. To weld, make sure to heat up the paperclip pieces for a while and then put the welding wire next to the 2 paperclip pieces to weld them together. Repeat again to get 2 squares welded together.

Assemble and End

After welding the 2 squares, tape them to the floor using masking tape to ensure they don't move and weld them together to eventually form a cube. If possible, have someone hold the square or papercut piece up when welding or use a clamp to hold it in place while welding. Finally, finish welding and make sure to let your cube cool down from welding!
