Paper Quilled Flower Girl Decor
Quilling is a paper craft which is fairly simple and you can create beautiful and complex looking patterns with patience and practice. I came across paper quilling by chance about 8 years ago, and got quite obsessed with it at that time. The fancy tools were not as easily availible as they are now there I used to roll with my fingers and after some time created my own tool with tooth pick and an empty pen, but that is the not the case anymore, although I still do not have any fancy stencil and pretty much rely on my hands and intuition.
In this instructable I am creating my interpretation of a Flower Girl.
Supplies
Different colored quilling strips.
Quilling tool
Glue
Pencil
Eraser
Any Thick White Sheet
The Shape
Firstly, I sketch the outline within which I will form the quilled art. A rough outline drawn lightly will help stick to basic shape that I have in mind.
The Quilled Shapes
I will be using the various shapes as in the pictures, for filling the outlined body. The basic is to roll the quilling paper with the quilling tool and then using your finger manipulate the shape. elongate, curve. In some cases forming roll is not required and simple folding also helps.
Filling the Outline
I start filling the shape from the bottom of the skirt, then after having filled halfway, I move to the waistline and start filing down words.
After the skirt is filled using the various shapes, I move to the torso and start filling it. Then form the arms.
Then move to form the head and neck.
I add the flower to the hand.
The Final Outcome.
The final outcome is the beautiful vibrant Flower Girl to be pinned on my craft board.
