Paper Ninja Star

In this instructable I will teach you how to make a paper ninja star that can thrown for more than 10 meters.

You will need :

• 2 pieces of paper (A4)

The following tools are optional but recommended:

• Scissors
• A Ruler

In this step we cut our paper to the shape of a square.

If you have a ruler and scissors you can cut it directly but if not I will show a way to cut without tools:

1. Fold one corner of the sheet in to the other side in a way that the sides of the paper will line up and a triangle shape is created ( picture 2).
2. Fold the remaining rectangle inwards as shown in the 3rd picture.
3. Open up both folds so that you have a full A4 sheet ( picture 4)
4. Use your thumb nail to go over the crease of the rectangle repeatedly ( about 3 times) and than carefully tear the paper to create a square ( the square will not be perfect but it will be usable).

1. Fold the square in half lengthwise (picture 1).
2. Fold the paper in half lengthwise again (picture 2).
3. Fold the paper in half widthwise and than open the last fold (picture 3+4).

1. Take your rectangle and fold the top half sideways as shown in the 1st picture.
2. Repeat the same procedure for the second half but in the opposite direction as shown in the 2nd picture.
3. Turn the paper upside down and fold the edges in diagonally as shown in the 3rd picture.

For the second piece repeat the exact way for steps 2+3 but in step 4 perform the angle folding in the opposite way as shown in the pictures.

1. Place both pieces on top each other such that the flat sides are touching ( the flat sides are the ones without the opening in the middle)(picture 1).
2. Take one of the flaps and insert into the corresponding cavity as shown in the 2nd picture.
3. Repeat for the 2nd flap ( picture 3).
4. Flip the star ( picture 4).
5. Repeat steps 2 and 3 as shown in picture 5+6.

You've successfully created your own paper ninja star.
Now try to make it fly for the longest distance possible.

You can also experiment with using different types of paper and different sizes ( just make sure both papers are the same size).
