One of my favorite things about fall is the colorful leaves. I wanted to create something to decorate with inspired by the fall colors, and this watercolor leaf wreath is what I came up with. If you'd like to see this in video form, please click the video above :)

Materials you will need:

- Either a wreath form or

-cardboard

-a large circular object to trace (such as a pie dish)

-a slightly smaller circular object to trace

-pencil

-something to cut the cardboard with

-heavy weight paper

-watercolors or watercolor pencils

-a stylus or toothpick

-a leaf pattern, which you can find here: http://pugdemonium.blogspot.com/2015/09/watercolor...

(or you can draw your own)

-water

-a paintbrush

-glue gun

-scissors

-a pencil

If you have a wreath form already, please skip this step.

Trace the larger object onto cardboard to create a circle. Then trace the smaller object inside the first circle.

Carefully cut this out. I also spray painted it silver, but this is totally optional.

Create the Leaves

Trace the leaf pattern onto the heavy weight paper (or draw your own).

Then color the leaf with watercolors or watercolor pencils, like I used.

Let the leaf completely dry.

Next use a stylus or toothpick to score the veins in the leaf.

Then slightly fold the leaf of the vein lines, to give it a more realistic shape.

Use a pencil or colored pencil to slightly go over the veins in the leaf.

Put It All Together

Once all the leaves are done (I used 6 leaves), arrange them on the leaf form.

Then hot glue all the leaves on. You can put glue just in the center to let them curl, or glue them flat.

Finally, add a ribbon or cord at the top to hang the wreath.

That's It!

And...you're done!

If you make this, I'd love it if you'd post a photo of it :)

Thanks!
