Paper Hot Air Balloon

Building a hot air balloon from paper

Welcome. Today, we will be making a paper hot air balloon.

Supplies

-paper

-pencil

-scissors

-tape or glue

-paperclip

-Stencil from https://papermatrix.files.wordpress.com/2012/02/balloon-mobile.pdf

First

First, cut out your stencil from: https://papermatrix.files.wordpress.com/2012/02/balloon-mobile.pdf. You will then put it one on top of the other and weave them.

Next, you are going to weave the paper, under and over, tightly. Making this tighter will result in a better looking hot air balloon. Sometimes paper clips will make this part easier so you don't have to continue to hold a single part. Once woven to the end, either use tape or glue this part. This makes up the balloon.

The Basket

Next you are going to cut out the other part of the stencil. One part will become the basket and the other part will become the attachment. For the rectangular piece, make a cylinder with the poking out circle the bottom and tape. Next make the semi-circle piece into a round piece. The video linked will show you. Connect the semi-circle to the formed balloon. With the ropes hanging off now, connect the basket to these ropes.
