Paper Gift Box

Simple to make, they are perfect for any type of gift. Make them in the favourite colour of the recipient and adjust the size to show off what you bought them. Finish it off with a ribbon and anyone will love the packaging just as much as the present itself!
Collect Box Materials
The only material that you need for this project is a square piece of paper.
It is best if you have origami paper to use however if you do not, you can simply cut a square from a larger piece of paper. If you do this however, ensure that the measurements are as accurate as possible.
Make the Box
Lay your paper square on a flat surface in front of you.
Fold the paper in half so that the top edge meets the bottom edge.
Press along the fold to crease.
Open the square again.
Fold the paper in half so that the left edge meets the right edge.
Press along the fold to crease.
Open the square out again.
The creases that you made should form a 'plus sign'.
Using the creases as a guide, fold each corner into the centre of the square.
Press along each fold to crease.
Turn the diamond so that it is a square again.
Fold the bottom edge upwards, so that it lines up along the centre of the square.
Press along the fold to crease.
Fold the top edge downwards so that it lines up along the centre of the square.
Press along the fold to crease.
The two folds that you just created should meet in the middle.
Open the folds you just made to form a square again.
Unfold the triangles on both the top and the bottom, as shown above.
Fold the right side of the paper, so that the left edge meets the centre-line.
Press along the fold to crease.
Repeat on the left side.
The two folds should meet at the centre-line.
Crease the top of the paper so that it stands up, as shown above.
While holding the standing end in place, lift the left fold up to create the left side of the box.
The paper should fold diagonally where there are already creases to make this step easier.
Hold the two standing walls in place and repeat on the right side.
Fold the bottom end of the paper up so that it is standing straight.
The paper should fold diagonally where there are already creases to make this step easier.
Fold the two ends over so that they sit inside the box.
The triangle tops should lay flat on the bottom of the box.
Collect Lid Materials

Repeat on the right side.
The two folds should NOT meet in the centre.
Crease the top of the paper so that it stands up, as shown above.

Assemble the Gift Box
Collect the box and lid for your Paper Gift Box.
The lid should be slightly bigger, so can be placed easily over the top of the box.
