Paper Crossbow

So this instructable will show you how to make a simple paper crossbow without using a rubberband. This is very simple and costs almost nothing.

Supplies

Materials:
9 Sheets of paper
4 Popsicle Sticks
A marker
Tape of any kind
Scissors
A Ruler

The Arm Tubes

Take four sheets of paper and leaving them stacked, fold them in half "hamburger" style. Then cut the paper along the seam. After you have made the cut, carefully roll each of the stacks into a tube and tape them so that they stay rolled.

Popsicle Stick Number One

Take the first Popsicle stick and make a mark 1 and 1/2 inches from each side. Then, insert one side of the Popsicle stick into the tube right up to the first mark. You can then break off the remainder of the popsicle stick below that mark. Do the same thing for the other tube using the other side of the Popsicle stick.

Finishing the Arms

Next insert a full Popsicle stick into the empty side of the tube. Mark on the outside of the tube where the two Popsicle sticks meet. Now bend the tubes along the mark you made until they are as close to 90 degrees as you can get them.

The Body

To make the body of the crossbow, take five sheets of paper and stack them, then roll the stack up and tape it so that it stays rolled. Now align the arms to the body, and tape them on. I found it helpful to do one arm at a time.

Finishing Up

To finish up you tie the string on. I used a slipknot on each end and hot glued them both afterwards. Now you're done! I find this crossbow is good for firing pencils, straws and other small objects. Be sure not to aim at people and have fun!
