Pallet Wall Art
I love abstract 3D "art" that you can either hang or lean against a wall. Now a days you can find just about anything you want on Instructables or Pinterest. So I'm going to add to the pot.
Find a Pallet
Pallets are everywhere. But for something like this I would be pretty picky. This one is a Food Grade A single use pallet, which means they toss em after one use. Just make sure it's in good shape. I ran some strips through a table saw to fill in the gaps.
Find a Photo
Any photo you want, have at it. I googled vintage posters and found this one. After calling around to some print shops, the average cost to have this free image printed 40x48 was about $100. Nope. So I printed them off in about 12 pages off my printer. YOU HAVE TO FLIP THE IMAGE ON THE HORIZONTAL OTHERWISE THE TRANSFER WILL BE BACKWARDS.
Transfer Image
This is, or can be, the most stressful part. Smother the area that you want the image on in Gel Medium. Lay the image on it, rub out the bubbles. Let it sit 12 hours.
Rub Off the Paper
Take a spray bottle and soak the paper. Take a rag and rub off the paper. What's left is the printer ink transferred to the wood.
Mount That S%*€
Mount it into the studs with some (many) framing screws.
