Pallet Skateboard

Hi !

In this intructable I'm going to show you how to make a cheap and nice skateboard out of pallet wood.

I'll try to write it without faults even if I'm French ...

Tools You'll Need:

  • Saw
  • Wood Router
  • Sander
  • Sandpaper of different grits
  • Claws
  • Clamps
  • Drill

Materials You'll Need:

  • Palet
  • Some skate stuff (wheels...)
  • Varnish
  • Skateboard Grip

Find Pallet

First, you obviously need a pallet... You can find some in or behind stores and construction sites.

Disassemble the Pallet

You can use a crowbar or a metal saw, but if you're using a metal saw, be careful to remove all nails.

Glue the Planks Together

But don't forget to clean them with sandpaper or a sander.

Spread glue on each plank and join them on the width with a clamp.

Wait 24 hours to dry.

Cut the Wood in the Width Side

  1. Cut it to make it thiner.

Cut It Again in the Width Side

Make sure you let a drop at the back what's going to become the tail of the skateboard.

Keep sawing it until you reach a good width (around 1,5 cm)

Design and Cut the Shape

I've made a pattern on paper after having designed the shape of the skateboard. Really helpful.

And don't forget to soften the drop of the tail.

Smooth the Edges With the Wood Router

Use a round drill on the wood router.

Sand It

Sand it until you get a smooth touch.

Add Varnish, Grip and Wheels
