Here's an easy project to recycle a pallet into a small vertical garden. Hopefully after my plants grow it will look greener.

Remove Boards to Make Space

Drill out the nails with a power drill, then pull up the boards with a hammer. Keep them intact, you'll need them later.

Punch in the Nails

Remove all nails sticking out where you just removed boards from. Any that you can't remove, hammer them in. Other nails still holding it together, use a punch to nail them beneath the surface.

Cut the Spare Boards

Cut the spare boards to shape so you can use them as the 'shelves' on which the pots will sit. I used a router and a jigsaw for this. Put them in place. If they are a slightly tight fit, use a mallet to get them in position. Now drill holes and screw each board in several places front and back to hold it in securely.

Plant Your Plants

For seedlings its nice to use an old egg carton to germinate. Anyway, get some plants to put in your new garden furniture.

Chicken Wire

Attach chicken wire to the back of it, and put plants it. Done!
