Painting With Marbles

This beautiful wall Poster is an abstract piece of art that anyone can make in minutes. It involves running Paint-soaked marble across a sheet of paper in a box.

We have done this Painting many times with my 4-year-old daughter. No matter who does it, adult or child, the outcome is always Stunning.

In this instructable, I will show you how to make this beautiful Painting with step by step instructions, pictures and a Video. I have also shared the Template that I used to make this wall art.

Print the Template

Download the Template (2 Pages) and Print it on a Thick sheet-like cardstock or Photopaper. You can also create your own Quote in Canva or PowerPoint. Make sure the Quote is Concise with just two or three words.

Cut out the box with text on Page 2.

Cover With Masking Tape

The first thing you need to do is cover the Text on Page 1 with Masking tape.1 cm Masking tape would be perfect. However, if you have a Wide one, Cut the extra width using a Cutting mat and cutter.

The letters with a curve like O can be quite challenging to cover but always try to stay within the line.

Secure the Sheet in a Box

Secure the Sheet on an empty cardboard box with masking tape on all sides. Ensure the margin (Overlap of the Masking tape) is uniform on all sides.

Add a generous amount of paint (3 or 4 colours) randomly on the paper. Drop 10-15 marbles and move the box such that the marbles roll all around and cover the complete Sheet with paint. The whole process takes less than a minute.

Watch us do this Painting in the next section.

Peel Off the Masking Tape

Once the paint is dry (It takes around 2 hours), remove the Sheet from the box and peel off the masking tape gently from the Sheet. If you are using cardstock, sometimes the upper layer of the paper will also peel along with the tape, but that is okay and will not affect the look.

You can correct the uneven edges of letters with Felt tip pens or leave them as it is; completely optional.

Paste the text box (That we had Cut from Page 2) below the wordings. Your Wall art is almost ready!

Frame It!

This Marble Painting is one of the best ways to make your favourite Quotes as Wall art. I have framed it and added it to my workspace. It looks pretty cool, and I love it.

You can use this Idea in many ways to decorate your wall; works well with Canvas too! Also, this is a fun Art project that Toddlers and Preschoolers will love to do over and over again.
