Same ol' boring spoons got you yawning? Spruce them up with a little bit of whimsy and color!

In this instructable, I'll show you how to paint wooden cooking spoons.

Let's get started!

For this project, you will need:

Wooden Spoons

Acrylic paint(s)

Paint brush(s)

Optional- Masking tape or painter's tape

a thick board to lie the head of the spoon while the handle dries

Method 1: Dripping

If you're not good with paintbrushes, you can simply dip the handle-end of your spoon in the acrylic paint container. If you dip the spoon at an angle, you'll get an asymmetric line on the handle.

For added dimension, you can dip the handle once, allow to dry, then dip in another color.

Method 2: Painting

Using a paintbrush and acrylic paints, and maybe even some masking tape for precise lines, remember to paint in the direction of the wood grain.

If you want to add another color, be sure to allow the previous layer's paint to dry. I use some gold metallic acrylic paint as a border.

Enjoy!
