In our newly bought house one separated room is used as a workshop now has really old paint, so I decided to add some colors with just a bunch of acrylic sprays and some sheet of cardboard.

Actually we are about to renovate this room and this become a great opportunity to try out this technique.

Clean Your Wall

Of course this is the first step, but I had to be very careful as the old paint is whitewash so it tends to fall off easily even for any small touch.

So just clean it with a moist cloth carefully to remove dust and spider webs.

Background the Shaped Things

Since precision work is almost impossible with spray cans, we have to progress layer by layer.

As this is was planned to be an extraterrestrial scene, then a circle of yellow and red was painted as a sun and a blue purple mix for the gas giant.

After that just cover them with the circle shaped cardboard and again cover the outline with your background, blue in this case.

Decorate

After the main scene is ready decoration can be added, like clouds and stars.

Finish Up

You can mix colors this way too, if you are careful and spray it from far.

This is how the reflection of the sun was added to the water and to the clouds.

And don't forget to plan your picture as it gets strange if you run out of a color...
