Hello, this project, I bought the used rc tank and It looks different from what the advertise, when I received the tank, it look very bad, also missing parts. (As in the pictures). The owner glued all the plastic parts on the tank. So, it very difficult to paint, it take more time to do, but the result looks good. I will paint the camouflage in 1945 and weathering on the Panther G Rc tank 1/16 scale from Heng Long. This time it will be basic paint use 3 colors, and weathering. It fun and looks realistic to the scale model. The step is simple and basic and easy to do. The result looks great. Let’s begin.

Supplies that you need to do Weathering 1945 Panther G’s project.

1. Heng Long Panther G rc tank (or other models)

2. Arcylic paints, (white, black, dark yellow, yellow, red, brown), paint tray, water spray, and paint brushes different sizes.

3. Spray paints (Surface primer: red-brown) (If you want to be correct in color, need to buy Tamiya’s color XF-59 Desert yellow, XF-64 Red brown, XF-89 Dark green2)

4. Metal iron paint and rust activator.

5. Masking tape, sand paper, baby oil, and paper tower.

First, I need to disassembly the Panther G rc tank by unscrew at the bottom of the tank, it should be about 6 screws. I took the turret’s piece, upper hull, and lower hull with wheels (bottom part), then disconnected the wires ports. Then prepare the Panther G for paint, I use alcohol to clean of the grease and dust. At first I spray paint surface primer (Red- brown primer) to the turret, upper hull, and the lower hull of the tank. After it dry, Next for the wheels, I paint with XF-59 and use masking tape, tape at the edge of the wheels and paint red-brown primer to the front and the back of the lower hull. Let it dry.

I draw the line with white chalk to make the pattern of what color will be, by looking at the pictures. Next I hand paint white paint on the tank from the turret and upper hull. I start to paint the light color, first I apply XF-59 Desert yellow to the areas. Then I paint XF-89 Dark green2 to the areas and last I paint XF-64 Red brown. After all paint done. I assembly the tank and start on the weathering. Then I mix the dark brown (Burnt S) color by adding water and apply to the tracks random and next is apply Raw Sienna (dark yellow) with water, by using the smallest brush, I paint over the dark brown, I also paint on the edge and side of the track as well. Next I apply the metal iron paint to the areas that I already paint Raw Sienna. Let it dry for a day, and apply rust activator to the areas, let it dry for a day. Next I apply the decal on the side, and back of the tank and write numbers on both side of the turret. I paint all of the accessories that come with the tank such as the spare track, tools, and others. I also paint, all wood handle look like wood and other things paint the color as it would be. For the exhaust pipe, air intake, radiator fan, and wheel hubs. I paint black and apply the body oil to make it shine.

Then I make 2 tow cables that will hook to the side of the tank and at the other end the wire to connect on the engine cover and the cable hook. I use the sling cable 1.5 mm. and I tied with the dental floss. After that I paint it flat black and apply metal iron paint deluded with some water. Let it dry, I apply the rust activator. Leave it overnight, it should rusted and hooked the tow cables to the 1945 Panther G tank. When the tank finish, it looks good, looks real. I look around the tank and paint more to make it look realistic. That it, let play.

Thanks
