The easiest way ive found to get layers of pain off metal minatures.

Supplies

  • Acetone
  • Glass Jar
  • Toothbrush and Tweezers

I found this on ebay, an old out of print Necron lord.

This was fairly cheap because of how much paint had been applied to it.

The idea is pretty stright forward, just use a glass jar and some acetone and let it sit there for a few minutes for the acetone to get to work.

Make sure its a glass jar and an all metal minature or else they will desolve too.

Acetone is also something you will want to use in a ventelated area, for me I work outside the house and in the garage with the doors open.

Once you see the paint flaking off and the glue release its hold if its a minature of multiplue parts, you can then take it out and give it a scrub. Repeat if needed, I had to let it soak a few times since this was quite a large ammount of paint.

Once i had most of the paint off using a brush or tweezers to get the harder to each places I left it to dry on a paper towel and its ready to be reassembed and repainted.
