PVC Vertical Work Light
I needed a quick moveable work light and purchased a cheap LED light from Harbor Freight $15. I had some spare 1” PVC pipe but it’s not very expensive.
Took about 30 min to cut and assemble.

Supplies
1 LED shop light
1” PVC pipe (3/4 may work as well)
2 3” U-bolt clamps (or whatever width your light is)
6 Elbows
5 Tees
1 X (4-way)
1 1” cap
PVC glue or equivalent if you want to make any of it permanent.
A PVC cutter (much easier and less messy than a saw) is about $15

Cut Pipe Lengths
I used 6” lengths of pipe for the base. 2 pieces make a side.
You will need 12 6” pieces
I used 12” pieces for the vertical risers.

You will need to determine how high you want the mast to be. Mine is about 5’. I used pipe I already had and that’s where it ended up.

Assemble the Stand
You will want to dry fit the pieces first and then decide what you want to glue. I suggest the entire base be glued and the riser pieces but not to each other. I kept the mast piece unglued for transport.
Lay out the pipe and fittings as shine and begin. Keep as flat as possible. Make sure the open T’s all face up.
Once the base is complete, assemble the riser section.
Last install the mast.

Mount the Light
I had some 3” U-bolt clamps that fit around the light almost perfectly. I had to stretch them out just a bit. I had considered taking the light apart and bolting through the frame but since it wasn’t screwed together I figured I might damage it in the process. Plus this allows me to quickly disassemble the light proper for use elsewhere if needed. DO NOT over tighten the U bolts or you will bend the light reflector.
The power cord is on the same end as the pull switch and comes straight out the back (top) and is kind of in the way but you can off-set the cable when you mount the light just enough to make it work.
