Spring is coming soon and it's time to start sowing seeds for a successful garden!
The idea here is to build a clod maker easy to make and cheap (even for free with recycled materials in my case).
Supplies
![a_1.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FFP/OK3L/L01BW4ZW/FFPOK3LL01BW4ZW.jpg&filename=a_1.jpg)
1x 11cm pvc pipe Ø 40mm
1x 13cm pvc pipe Ø 32mm
1x screw Ø 5mm (5cm long) + 1 washer + 1 self blocking nut
1x screw Ø 4mm (2cm long mini) + 3 washers (with the same diameter than the screw's head) + 1 nut
1x washer Ø 32mm
1x piece of plywood (1cm thick mini)
1x something to use as a handle, the ideal would be a pvc T but i used an old curtain rod end.

![a_3.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FTA/EEU0/L01BW4ZY/FTAEEU0L01BW4ZY.jpg&filename=a_3.jpg)
bore the Ø 40 pipe with a 6mm drill as shown on the picture. Do the same on the other side.

![a_5.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/F32/LR1Q/L01BW500/F32LR1QL01BW500.jpg&filename=a_5.jpg)
![a_6.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FBB/9TZX/L01BW501/FBB9TZXL01BW501.jpg&filename=a_6.jpg)
draw lines between the the 2 holes and cut (i used a dremel). Do the same on the other side.

![a_8.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FP3/5IFD/L01BW503/FP35IFDL01BW503.jpg&filename=a_8.jpg)
bore the Ø 32 pipe with the 6mm drill (see picture for measure).
![a_9.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FCX/RG4I/L01BW504/FCXRG4IL01BW504.jpg&filename=a_9.jpg)
![a_10.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FLK/B6R5/L01BW505/FLKB6R5L01BW505.jpg&filename=a_10.jpg)
![a_11.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/F3E/XE84/L01BW506/F3EXE84L01BW506.jpg&filename=a_11.jpg)
cut the plywood with a Ø 32 hole saw and gather in this order : the Ø 4 screw, 2 washers, the Ø 32 washer, the plywood piece, the last washer and the nut.
![a_12.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FYS/CSPL/L01BW507/FYSCSPLL01BW507.jpg&filename=a_12.jpg)

insert the piece of the step 4 in the Ø 32 pipe.
![a_14.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FU1/3O48/L01BW50F/FU13O48L01BW50F.jpg&filename=a_14.jpg)
![a_15.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FXF/5LL8/L01BW509/FXF5LL8L01BW509.jpg&filename=a_15.jpg)
![a_16.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FSE/VXMH/L01BW50A/FSEVXMHL01BW50A.jpg&filename=a_16.jpg)
insert the Ø 32 pipe in the Ø 40 pipe and put the Ø 5 screw. Put the washer and the self blocking nut on the other side but don't squeeze too much, the 2 pipes must slide.
To complete the clod maker, slot the handle on the Ø 32 pipe.
The job is done!!

Now put some drenched loam on the clod maker, compact well and press the handle to unmold.
All that's left is to put a seed inside the hole and to fill in with a bit of loam.
No need to sprinkle immediately, it's wet enough!
Enjoy!
