PVC Pipe Rocket Ship Planter Box
I was looking in the contest section on inscrutables and saw a up-cycled materials contest. I was looking around the class room and saw a used piece of PVC pipes and thought that i would be cool to turn it into a plasterboard levitated by legs and so I did and this is how I did it.
Supplies
You Will need-
around 5-6 feet of 3/4 inch in diameter PVC pipe(for the legs)
1 foot of 4 in diameter PVC pipe(the body of the rocket)
4 1 in screws (to drill the legs onto the body)
4 2 and a half Inch screws(for lower on the legs to drill into the body)
Spray paint of your choice(I went with green)
Saws (any that can cut good)
sander/files (I used files)
A vice (to hold down the pipes as you cut them)
Marker (to make where to cut)
Drill(to drill in the screws)
First you want to take your 6ft of 1 inch PVC pipe then cut it into 4th. After that you want to mark it at the angle you want to cut to mach the angle of your body. For this step I recommend that you cut it roughly then sand it down till you have the right angle. Repeat 4 times an all pieces
For the second step you want to make marker lines but a little more steeper than the ones you made before but on the opposite side. This is the side that will be touching the ground. I would also make a rough cut then sand it down so it matches the angle of the ground and touch the body. Repeat 4 times on all pieces.
After you finish cutting/sanding down all the PVC pipe legs you will need drill in the screws into the inch mark on your body. You will drill 2 holes on each legs one at the top and one 1 in from the top. You will use the 1 in screw on the top and the 2 and a half screws on the bottom hole. When done it should be able to stand on its own now.
Next you can spray paint it to what color you want it too and you should spray paint it with 2 coats on the outside and 1 coat on the inside.
Now you should just have to add dirt to it and now you should be done!!!-
This planter box should hold small plants and should last a long time.
