PVC BASE for Rubber Band Machine Gun

I have had some requests to make a base for our PVC Rubber Band Machine Gun, so it can pivot while shooting. Although the gun can be turned side to side easily, the up and down motion is difficult, so let’s solve that.

Here is a list of the items you will need:

This stand is made for the Double Barrel PVC Rubber Band Machine Gun, but it can be adapted to fit the single barrel. If you have not seen these projects, I will put the links in the description:

First let’s lay everything out. I decided to use 3/4" PVC for the base because the smaller 1/2" pipe used for most of the gun may not be strong enough to hold the weight without over flexing. And since the base is stronger, it might be useable in other projects.

Once the parts are laid out, start connecting them. Do not use any glue at this point because we want to make sure everything fits first. Adjust the legs downward and raise the center section upward. The base should look something like this.

In the top T-connector, insert a reducer in each side. These will be used to connect the 3/4” base to the 1/2” frame.

It is now time to insert the 1/2” T-connectors into the two long arms of the frame. First remove each pipe and measure the length. They should be 12” long. Now measure and cut one of them in half. Place the new pieces into the connector opposite one another.

Using a ruler, place the 6” mark at the center of the T-connector. Place a mark where the ruler shows 0” and 12”, and cut off the excess pipe. You can now place that arm back into the frame. Now repeat this for the other arm.

Using some extra pipe, measure and cut the sections that fit between the 1/2" T and 3/4" T. Depending on your previous cuts and the PVC brand, the length may vary slightly, so carefully measure twice and cut once to prevent mistakes.

And there you have it, a great PVC base for our Rubber Band Machine Gun.
