Prawns biryani is a flavorful made using prawns and basmati rice. Prawns is cooked with spices and caramelized onions. Biryani is a delicious dish made by cooking fragrant basmati rice with meat, spices & herbs

Supplies

THINGS NEEDED

  • Basmati Rice - 1/2 cup
  • Prawn - 20 nos
  • Big Onion - 2
  • Tomato - 1/2
  • Ginger & Garlic ( Paste/Finely Chopped) - 1 tsp
  • Coriander & Mint Leave - Handful
  • Ghee - 1 tsp
  • Oil - 2 tablespoon
  • Green Chilli - 1
  • Turmeric Powder
  • Chilli powder

TO TEMPER

  • Bay Leaf - 1
  • Cinnamon Stick - 1/2 inch
  • Clove - 2
  • Shah Jeera - 1/4 tsp

  • Soak half cup Basmati Rice for 20 mins
  • Cut 3 garlic pods, an inch of ginger and 1 green chilli finely
  • Wash prawns in turmeric
  • Finely slice 2 big onions
  • Chop handful of coriander leaves and mint leaves
  • Cut half tomato

Making Biryani

  • Heat pressure cooker . Add a teaspoon of Ghee and 1 tablespoon of oil
  • When its hot add Bay leaf, Cinnamon and clove.
  • Add Shah Jeera, once it splutters add chopped ginger and garlic . Stir fry for minute.
  • Add sliced onions and green chilli.
  • Once onion is translucent add chopped coriander and mint leaves
  • After few minutes , added chopped tomato
  • When tomato turns mushy, add turmeric powder
  • Add 1/2 teaspoon of chilli powder
  • Saute for 5 mins till raw smell goes away
  • Add washed and clean prawns
  • Sir fry for 5 mins
  • Add some coriander leaves and mint leaves
  • Add rice and sauté for a minute
  • Add 1 cup of water in same measured cup of rice
  • Keep it in medium to high flame
  • Close pressure cooker and leave it for a whistle
  • Open lid while whistle cools down
