PP Lamp Shade
Lasercut polypropylene lampshade with a vintage look. This lampshade uses the properties of polypropylene to its fullest. Easy to make, flat pack to transport, easy to put together and as little suspension as possible.
What you need:
- 2mm steel wire
- 50cm x 40cm sheet of PP
- lasercutter
- utility knife
- iron file
- (point) welder
- lamp stand
- lightbulb
Make Suspension
The suspension for the shade is made of 2mm steel wire which is shaped to a Y-shape. Use a (point) welder to secure the steel wire in place. Clean up with an iron file.
Lasercut PP Sheet
Use a lasercutter to cut the flat shape of the shade out of the PP sheet (you can also cut out the shape with a utility knife). This includes slots to secure the suspension and connection wings.
