- Paper glue
- Superglue

Planing, Measuring, Drawing

As I said before, I'm way far from my home and workshop so I have limited resources and acces to tools, materials but not ideas.

After you have selected your animation, cardboard, motor and have an imagination overview of your build it's time to get to work. First, measure the lenght of the motor as this measurement determines the hight of the base. After you have the lenght, find an enclosure that fits the motor but also have good stability (dimensions, weight, also some free space for further use)

I didn't find any tin or plastic boxes or anything that I could use for my base so I had to make it out of cardboard. You can choose any design you want. I made it very simple, boxlike.

To make this easier you can do this drawing on a computer and print it directly on cardboard or sticky paper

Cut the drawed or printed shapes. If you have printed them on cardboard you will skip few steps. If it's on paper, cut the shapes and glue them onto cardboard, then cut the cardboard.

Cut the 1cm slots in the cardboard pieces and punch the center hole, big as necessary to fit the motor's axle thru.
Now start bending the base at the drawed lines. After bending, you can remove the paper form cardboard
Glue the margins on the four corners. If the paper glue isn't strong enough just put one drop of superglue on each side.
Hot glue or superglue motor into place.

The "carousel"

Cut the pictures for the animation to fit the cardboard pieces and glue them in place. Apply glue on the cardboard piece because it's easier to arrange te paper; if you apply glue on the paper it will deform and stick on itself.

Next, glue the plastic sproket or gear onto the cardboard disc with the axel-sized hole. Align the holes by sticking the axel.

Merge the pieces in order by conecting slots and superglue them into place.

Add ladybugs! Or stars, hearts... wathever you have or like :D

I wasn't pleased by the looks of the base so I wanted to rap it into raping paper, for gifts but couldn't find any so I bought a small paper gift bag that will do the trick :D

The Union

Just attach the "carousel" to the base by sticking the axle in the plastic sproket or gear and you're good to go!

Enjoy the animation!

Also for this build I would put a 3 AAA battery holder and a switch but the best I could do here was to put a USB cable to power it.

Other features that you can add to this build are a PWM circuit to control the speed of the motor hence the speed of the animation, color (you can color it how you want), more frames for the animation (the more frames the better the image is), lights (some cool effects with LEDs)

I hope you enjoyed my instructable, can't wait to see your version (you can post them in the comments) and don't forget to give it a vote :D Thank you!
