Hey guys, i wanted to build a gaming desk for my man cave, any ordinary desk isn't gonna cut it

This desk was mainly built for the purpose of storage, i don't like having shelves everywhere so everything is stored in compartments. This is part 1 of the 2 parts to my build.

This build was inspired by Project Alternate by De Blow . link to Build here

https://www.pcgamer.com/build-of-the-week

Just a heads up: my pc wasnt supposed to be a copy/ replica. and is by no way completed how i want it. I just use him as inspiration.

Material List

2 sheets Ply-board or Melamine

Circular/ Table/ Jig saw (anyone would work)

Drill

1 pk 1.5" gypsum Screws

1 pk 2" gypsum Screws

4 lenghts .75" x 3.5" White pine

EXTRAS (just for accessorizing)

7pcs 2" Hinges

Black paint

Carbon fiber vinyl wrap

1 strip of RGB Leds

Staple gun

Start by Measuring the space you want to build your desk mine was 8ft x 2ft

Pc Dept must be minimum 8" to store all components inside

Materials cut 8ft x 8" (2pcs) . . 2ft x 8" (2pcs).

BASE

20161004_214139.jpg
20161004_215337.jpg

For the base i made 2 shelves as legs, this can be cut to any desired shape but serve the same purpose.

Desks should not be more than 30" tall for standard height chairs

Materials cut:

2ft x 28" (2 pcs)

12" x 28" (2pcs)

center piece can be cut to any width as long as its 24" and 12" on either side to match the lenghts

See Images for referance.

BASE Part 2

Next youll want a piece in the center for more support and also works as a shelf for your stuff.

Materials cut

4ft x 12"

And added a extra piece of white pine for more support

See images for referance.

FINISHING THE FRAME

For the final part of the frame youll wanna make a base for the top component area.
Material cut:

8ft x 2ft.
See images above

Next you screw the top console to the base and screw everything together.

ADDING THE PARTS

Some Knowledge of computers required

You'll need to disassemble an old PC frame for the motherboard holder.
Carefullly Screw out the rivets in the casing and everything will pop out.

Once everything is removed add some spray paint of your choice.

My theme was black and white.

For this part youll need to figure out the layout of your build

HINT: know exactly how much things you wanna add before making any permanent decisions.

i chose 3 HDD's a 2 CD drives, 1 Memory card slot

NEXT youll wanna lineup everything and draw where your cutting
remove the front panel to make the cuts easier.

See images above.

Please have someone nearby who is experienced in building computers.

Im not reliable for anything that happens next.

For this part i built a custom power/ reset switch

you'll need one as your no longer using a case

I took an existing switch off the same case i destroyed and made it fancy.

See images above.

BASIC WIREING & WATERCOOLING

Some basic knowledge of PC water-cooling is needed for this part

i wont go into details but you can find guides online.

Fit all your wires from the Power supply exactly where it should go

NOTE: the further your power supply the longer the cables needed.

Added 2 fans for airflow. and also slide those wires thru the holes
